a good website for walks in nsw is wildwalks.com.It has comprehensive track notes ,some photos etc. Another site walkingcoastsydney.com.au details a walk from barrenjoey to cronulla-hardly wilderness. Brochures from the coastal  local councils (e.g Manly) is easier to follow them printed from  website. Also Harbour to Hawsbury walk-going up Middle harbour.I thought you might like to add these to your links

Hi Tony, thanks for your comments. I am trying to improve and overhaul the site a little at the moment and will in due course include the links you have suggested. Thanks for passing them on.

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for providing such an interesting website.  However, the photographs of the mountain in Bulahdelah's eastern sector have been incorrectly captioned.  The mountain, originally Boolah Dillah, which means the Great Rock, is registered as Bulahdelah Mountain but the name 'the Alum Mountain', which is a nickname, has been widely used for over a century and a quarter.  The names: Bulahdelah Mountain, the Alum Mountain or Bulahdelah 'the Alum' Mountain are all correct but this historic mountain is not named Mount Alum.

Currently the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority intends to destroy the mountain with a new and unnecessary (there are other options available) section of Pacific Highway.  If you're interested in this, there's info. at: http://pacific-highway.blogspot.com, http://bulahdelah-upgrade.blogspot.com and nsw-highway-upgrades.blogspot.com

Thank you again for your interesting site.

Regards,
Adele Carrall.

Hi Adele,

Thank you for your comments. Now to the right of reply:

1. I believe I have now correctly identified 'the Great Rock' in all of the areas on my site that I could find. I don't think it really bothered too many people, but I have changed it none-the-less. I have heard plenty of people refer to it as Mount Alum and the name is really of little significance if people know to what I am referring to. It is just a name - something to clearly identify 'something' as being a particular 'thing.' Certainly I prefer accuracy and so I have happily changed the name to that which is more correct.

2. As to the RTA and the planned Bulahdelah bypass, it is hardly unnecessary and it is very unlikely to destroy 'the Great Rock.' I think that really does blow out of all proportion what the RTA is planning to do. I am aware of the small proportion of, shall I say 'protesters,' who are now beginning to stand in the way of responsible progress - including the small 'camp' at the base of the mountain. I am hopeful that in the interests of public safety that the planned highway upgrade proceeds as planned.
